We had a great trip due in no small part to this great little apartment. Before the trip, correspondence with parisaddress was efficient and professional. They met us at the apt mere minutes after we arrived despite that we arrived earlier than scheduled (though coordinated via phone). Apartment itself: Fantastic location. Very convenient for walking to much of the 4th and 5th, and convenient to a number of metro stops, and the Batobus stop is just across the bridge. We weren't there during highest season, but even on the busier Sat night, the apartment was quiet enough (most of the noise is actually from traffic on Voie Georges Pompidou across the river). Apartment is renovated nicely. Skylights in the kitchen and bathroom give extra light. Linens and towels are good quality. Water pressure excellent. Bed firm and quite comfortable. The six flights of stairs are a bit of a workout, especially on the moving days with luggage to get up/down, but it's really a non-issue if you're reasonably fit.

We had a delightful stay in the apartment. The 116 steps up will undoubtedly put many off (and the last few feel like you are climbing a ladder), but we loved the view we were rewarded with each time we entered the apartment and looked out across the Seine. The downstairs lobby as you first enter the building is rather dark and dank, but the stairwell has windows and they lighten the trips up and down both literally and figuratively. Never in the course of our stay in the building did we see or hear any other residents. One night there were rowdy celebrants in the building next to us and we could hear their laughter and shouts and feel their jumping about. It was fairly short-lived at least and I would term the apartment essentially quiet, thought as another reviewer mentioned, you can hear traffic noise and other city sounds (sirens especially). Also, until midnight or so you periodically have the entire room flooded with light as the boat cruises go by and illuminate the buildings for the benefit of the tour. We kind of enjoyed that, but it wouldn't be for everyone. Likewise, in June the sunrise is early and it promptly floods the apartment with light. If that is an issue, you'd want a sleep mask. Or a different apartment. We found the facilities to be great and especially appreciated that closing the windows blocked out the bulk of the city noise. When we needed air, opening the windows and popping the skylights created a great breeze. We mostly did just breakfast in the apartment though one night we did cook dinner and found that pretty easy. While not as well equipped as home, the kitchen did not lack anything we needed for the simple meal preparations we did. The washing machine came in handy. I don't mind washing things in a sink, but we were able to clean some clothes we otherwise would not have and that meant we could have packed less. The shower is small - bending over in it isn't really an option. But it was adequate, had good water pressure, etc. We appreciated the vast amount of bathroom counter space, which we haven't seen much of in other Paris apartments and hotels. The bed was comfortable, though against the wall which would make climbing in and out of the far side a little tricky if you aren't nimble. I suppose, however, if you couldn't handle that you wouldn't be renting a place with a 116 step climb in the first place! We would have appreciated a second set of keys for the property. They were not offered and we didn't realize until later that we should have requested them. The keys are needed both for the building entry door and the apartment door. We managed with no problems, but a second time I'd want the second set. Finally there were two of us in the apartment and I think that is about the maximum the place can handle. I know they suggest the sofa can be used for a third person, but I'd not recommend that for a stay of any length. All told, we loved the location, the views, the apartment, and the feeling that we "lived" in the heart of Paris. I'd not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed in mid-July for a week and had a delightful time. The stairs (especially that last flight which was close to being a ladder) were a bit much that first time up with the suitcases, but after that it wasn't a big deal. Still, if you're not able to handle stairs, this is not the apartment for you. The view across the Seine is wonderful and we never tired of it. We were there on July 14, so we had the unique experience of waking up to the jets flying down the Seine - quite an amazing experience. We didn't cook in the apartment at all, but it was great being able to fix breakfast each morning. There is a boulangerie (and a grocery store) just minutes away, so we had fresh bread each morning. The washer/dryer combo was great as we travel light. We really appreciated the ventilation from the skylights and windows. Our son slept on the sofa/sleeper and we folded it away the first few days when we wanted to sit. There really was plenty of room for all of us. The bathroom has plenty of storage space which is not all that common in hotel rooms. The location is very convenient for seeing the sites of Paris. One note of caution ... there were people picnicing/partying along the quai below our windows almost every night and you can hear them if you leave the windows open as we did. This is probably not an issue in winter, but something to consider if you are a light sleeper visiting in summer. Our dealings with the renting agency went very well. They were quick and responsive during the booking process. We did have a slight problem contacting them the first night (needed bedding for the sofa/sleeper), so you should make sure you know how to do that. Overall, we had a fabulous experience. The apartment was great, the agency easy to deal with and being met at the airport with the arranged taxi made life so much easier.

my husband and i stayed here from 4 september through 16 september and we had an amazing time! this studio was absolutely perfect for us and we could not have asked for anything better. the apartment was beautifully decorated and neat, and the view over the seine and onto the right bank was stunning. sure, you have to climb 116 stairs to get to it, but it is totally worth it! plus, those stairs helped counteract the effects of our daily bread and pastry binges :) the location on ile saint louis - literally smack dab in the middle of paris - was perfect. you can walk to most of the popular spots in central paris, and when you're feeling a little beat there are several convenient metro stops close by. some other things we liked included... internet access; relatively spacious bathroom/shower (it is europe though, so don't expect a giant shower stall or tub); plenty of storage; berthillon ice cream; sitting on the banks of the seine with a bottle of wine; street performers on pont saint-louis; listening to m-fm on the radio; seeing notre dame every day... i could go on and on! this place felt like a second home to us... if we could have stayed forever, we would have! all in all, the perfect spot for adventurous travelers who want to be in the center of one of the most spectacular cities in the world. we both hope to be back soon...

We echo all of the positive responses written about 41 Quai Bourbon. The apartment suited our needs perfectly and the 6 flights of stairs (even the final steps which are more like a ladder) just gave our fitness levels an edge for all of the walking that is an essential part of being in Paris! The apartment is very well designed and little touches like the remote skylights are a real bonus. The bed is fairly basic but surprisingly comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom cleverly utilise space and are well provisioned. There is plenty of natural light and the night lighting is very cleverly planned to give the feeling of separate spaces within the apartment. The view from the two large windows is spectacular and the placement of the apartment at the western tip of Ile St Louis means that you have the feeling of being quite private. Double glazing on the windows also provides a brilliant shut down of the persistent police sirens that seem to suggest Paris is always in the grip of some emergency! It is a great little apartment for two and the fold out bed means another one could be accomodated although the apartment is clearly made for a couple. We loved staying there and the 41 Quai Bourbon will be our selection for our next visit to Paris. The management of the apartment was also very professional and we appreciated the thoroughness of the staff when booking, in emailing prior to our arrival to confirm times, and in cheerfully greeting us on time at the apartment.

Me and 2 friends of mine stayed there from december 26th to january 4th. After almost die climbing the stairs, we were amazed about wat we found! A beatifull apartment, very well decorated, with a confortable bed and sofa. Everything was new (the fridge, the wash machine, the microwave and so on. The view was a bonus. And what a bonus! I would stay there again easily. But we can not tell: the stairs are the sacrifice you will have to face, before get the reward.

We enjoyed our stay at 41 Quai Bourbon (Jan 17-22) enormously. Yes there are 'the stairs' to negotiate and with luggage that is nothing to scoff at, but once you open that door and take a look out the window the stairs are instantly forgotten. The location is excellent, being central to many Parisian attractions and when you are too tired to walk or you want to venture further afield there are train stations close by. Sadly the Batobus were on their annual low season break during our stay but I could see that this would have been an ideal mode of transport for guests at Quai Bourbon. The 'Velib' bike hire system across Paris was also a fabulous inexpensive way to get around (NB: you need a Credit Card with a micro chip for the security deposit) with pick-up & drop off locations close by. We really appreciated the internet access and about the only thing I can suggest to the owners would be to make it wireless, everything else is first rate. We shared the apartment with our 10 year old son which did make things cosy but not uncomfortable. Intelligent design and inclusion of clever fixtures and fittings make the small kitchen and bathroom a pleasure to use. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism of the staff at Paris Address. Their communication was excellent with appropriate contact leading up to our stay and prompt responses to all questions. They were on time and thorough with our arrival paperwork and apartment orientation and instructions. If you can cope with a few flights of stairs then book this apartment. You won't be disappointed! My husband and I were able to book 41 Quai de Bourbon on short notice for a 4 night stay in September 2010 and do not regret our decision. I felt like a Parisian with my very own home right in the middle of the city. First, the view is magnificent. Day or night it was a joy to marvel at the boats passing along on the Seine and watch the people walking on the streets below. Second, the location makes a number of the metro lines very accessible. You can reach almost all the areas of Paris and the major sights (including the airport and Versailles) without transferring lines which can be a real time saver. We used the St. Michel, St. Paul, and Pont Marie stops. Third, the apartment is well-provisioned with everything you can possibly need -- wifi, flat screen TV, telephone for local calls, refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer, hair dryer, etc. The only thing you may need to bring is an alarm clock and a frying pan. We found the apartment building very quiet. We only saw other residents from the other apartments on the Saturday that we arrived. We never heard anyone else, maybe because we were on the top floor. The street is very safe. My only negative comment is that we did see men (plural) urinating on the street against several buildings one night, but that seemed to be a very common occurrence in Paris and not limited to this street. While the stairs may have prevented us from making too many trips in and out of the apartment, we would not hesitate to stay at this address again if it were available for our next visit. We would highly recommend it to any of our friends who are reasonably fit. We climbed many more stairs in Paris than the ones here -- Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Tour Eiffel. It was great exercise. The people from ParisAddress were very accommodating and easy to work with before our arrival. We were met with no fuss even though we were an hour late for our meeting time because of delays with the RER. And for the departure you simply leave the keys in the apartment and close the door. Book this apartment and start making plans for an unforgettable vacation!

I recently spent a wonderful six nights at 41 Quai de Bourbon. The apartment was excellent with atmospherice views over Paris and we would sit each night by the window enjoying the sparkling lights of the city. The apartment was clean, safe, quiet and in an excellent location. Making the reservation was secure and easy and I would most definitely use this company again when we return. I would like to suggest that a few basic items in the kitchen would have been helpful, especially coffee filter bags for the machine and a few extra toilet rolls. Otherwise wonderful!

This is a great apartment if you don't mind the steep staircase (which I didn't). It's beautifully decorated and fully equipped. The service by Parisaddress was very friendly and efficient as always. Overall, I give five stars out of five.

Our one month stay in your Paris apartment was wonderful. On entering the building it was rather dingy and dusty but they were adding new lighting to the stairwell. As soon as we entered the door of our apartment it took our breath away, not because of the 7 flights of stairs but because of the spectacular view! The Seine at our doorstep, boats on the river, a cathedral right across along with Hotel de Ville, people walking across the ponte and leafy trees russling at the side of the window. At night it all lit up like a fairytale! The apartment had everything we needed and was comfortable and spacious. The bed was firm and comfy which is so important to me. We kept our windows open at night but one drawback was the loud noise from parties on the banks of the Seine almost every night. The building was very quiet and we felt completely safe. Everything was so convenient with boulangeries, markets, a fromagerie, and so many lovely restaraunts to choose from. Our favourite was the "Med". Delicious food and not to pricey. We loved the bathroom for good lighting and storage. We felt the kitchen could have been improved by removing the door as it just got in the way of the fridge. A new frying pan is definitely needed, plus an alarm clock. The biggest disappointment was our 'welcome'. The 'Agent' who met us was in too big a hurry and didn't give us a proper orientation. A bottle of wine to greet us would have been a nice touch also. But the view made up for all the letdowns and we would highly recommend this lovely apartment. Plus we came home much fitter after our daily dose of 116 stairs.

Our dream vacation of 12 days in Paris in August 2011 was just that - a dream come true. The apartment was beautiful, authentic, romantic, reasonably priced, perfectly located, with an amazing view. It even came with our own accordian player who would serenade us from the bridge below as we lay in bed humming along to "La View en Rose". Did I mention it was romantic? Eric met us to hand over the keys as arranged, and even had a bottle of bubbly in the fridge to welcome us to Paris. After going over everything with a friendly and efficient manner, Eric bid us adieu and we were never in need of him again. Location, Location, Location. This apartment was ideally located on the Seine, beside Notre Dame, Marais and the Latin Quarter. On Isle St. Louis itself there are stores where you can keep your kitchen well stocked, and lovely cafes and restaurants for any type of meal you desire. Just a short walking distance away there was - well everything! We loved the Velib bicycles and used them pretty well exclusively if we needed to go somewhere further than a half an hour's walk. Otherwise, we just hoofed it everywhere. Speaking of hoofing it, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the famous stairs. Yes, there are a lot of them. Yes, you plan your forays into the world so that you don't have to make too many trips back up them during the day. But somehow the stairs just added to the charm of the place - providing an extra laugh to share and remember.

We recently stayed at 41 Quai de Bourbon - first visit back to Paris for many years. Yes, the stairs were quite formidable (and I would like to add here that we are not exactly a young couple, however we are fit!) - but well worth the wonderful views and beautifully decorated apartment. We did have a third person stay for a few nights and this was not a problem - it was great to have the option. Even though it was winter and at times very cold outside, we did not need very much heating. All in all I would not hestitate to recommend this apartment. It is such a great location and our experiences of the Isle St Louis as well as Paris itself were just magical.
