Location

In the heart of the Marais, two steps away from the village, this Paris vacation rental enjoys an exceptional site. The population of the Marais is kind, smart and relaxed,and are known as "Middle-class bohêmes" or "Bobo", knowing how to live and behave well. Very multicultural, the Parisians of the Marais appreciate the foreigners and the visitors, with many of them speaking English. This district is one of most residential and prestigious. To walk in the streets during the day or the night is very pleasant and without particular danger. It is completely possible to walk to the Museum of the Louvre, the BHV (Bazard of the Town hall), Notre Dame and many other worthwhille places.

Standing

This apartment rental in Paris is located in a "unique" place in the city, in the full heart of the Marais. Located in a superb courtyard, this apartment is on the 1st floor without an elevator. It is very calm and sunny.

Layout

Paris apartment of 50 m2 composed of a large living / dining room, with a kitchen open onto it and a bedroom with two single beds (80x200) that can be put together to form a double bed (160*200). In the living room a small bed allows an additional bed. The bathroom has a shower. This Paris rental apartment has been recently renovated, is very pleasant and is located in the heart of the Marais in a courtyard, which will give you a feeling of being in the coutryside.

We were delighted with the Village apartment and its location. Easy walking to lots of good restaurants - on the Ile St Louis and near to Opera Bastille and Place de Vosges. Good food shopping nearby and good metro links for sightseeing if not walking. The apartment was very comfortable and lovely to come home to on December afternoons ! We had a wonderful Christmas there. Have already pointed out to them lack of good electric points in Kitchen area, and no bread knife for lovely french bread so hope they have rectified! We would return!

We had a wonderful stay at the VILLAGE apartment of 14 Rue des Lions Saint-Paul. Its location in a courtyard, with trees and benches was a pleasant surprise: it was like having your own private park on your doorstep. The Monoprix supermarket with great assortment of good food and wine is only blocks away. The metrostation too is nearby and there is a tons to do at walking distance! The apartment itself is very comfortable and it was a home for the 8 days we stayed there. The lack of electric points within the kitchen area is something worth attending for more comfort. All in all: great stay! For sure a place to come back to!

We found the location of the apartment excellent. Very close to all amenities including the Metro.Unfortunately the washing machine did not work at all and the outside of the building was being painted. When i complained the contact at Paris address was rightfully angry at the owner. A total of 20 % was refunded. I would have preferred no problems rather than a refund. The contacts at Paris address were good to deal with but only after i made many calls. The French way of life seems to be not to call you back. The only real complaint was that on arrival the contact did not show us all facets of the apartment and only seemed interested in getting paid and then disapppearing asap. Having said all this i can certainly recommend the location and the apartment 100%> My final advice make sure you are friendly to the caretaker - Madam Louis - she is very helpful but cannot speak any English at all.

First this a a wonderful apartment but it needs work (see below). Stayed for 8 glorious days with wife and daughter (16). The location in the Marais is wonderful. Only a few blocks from the Seine, Isle de Cite, Bastille etc. Very pleasant courtyard in front and quiet! Slept great. Delicious food and all types of shopping very close. Check in was easy and pleasant. Wireless worked well. Apt was comfortable but needs work and the mold was something. There has been some major water event in this apt. Wet walls by the small bed in the corner, very wet walls with peeling paint in the kitchen (the smell from under the sink is overpowering), mold and smell in the shower (which is a good size for an apartment). Electrical outlets hanging out of wall by wires, power strip for extra outlets in the kitchen (by the wet sink - dangerous!), paint peeling in master bedroom, new washing machine not hooked up, no front cover on the dishwasher (ugly but it works). Frying pans had coating scraped off so cooking on raw aluminum - need to be replaced. Coffee pot works but pot handle broken. Use both hands and a towel to pour. We would stay here again but would check to see that the mold and wet walls had been repaired.

The bones of this apartment are great. Wonderful location, good shopping and food in walking distance, quiet. However, the owner of this property should know that it is long overdue for upgrades and repairs. Yes, there is mold in the shower, and, yes there is a wet wall in the kitchen which smells bad and needs to be fixed. The sofas also smell stale and the walls need painting. The small TV has lousy sound. The coffee pot handle is broken (next time, buy better than Ikea or Carfour which totally dominate this cheaply appointed apartment). We tried to get a taxi with the Paris Address office,for getting our daughter to Gare du Nord, and were told that it needed to be set up 48 hours ahead of time! Isn't this a major world city? Well, we figured out how to book on line and took care of our needs. Funny thing is that the taxi we set up with the greeter for us to get to the airport at the end of our trip cost us 75 euros. The same trip cost us 50 euros on our arrival to the apt. This taxi we picked up outside of the airport on our own. The Paris Address office personnel were not helpful here. Loved the location, but not happy with the way the apartment was maintained.

Bonjour Chris and Mary, I would like to thank you for your comment and clarify two points mentioned in your text. 1) About the taxi : we are not booking company, we work with a special one, a private limousine service which is not the same as a taxi that you can pick up in the street. They ask us a 48H notification. About the price, that is true that is a little bit more expensive because when the driver is picking you at the airport, he goes there specially for you and wait for you in case of delay of your plane. By the way, we do not make any money on this and we are the best price of the market for this kind a service. 2) About the apartment maintenance: you are right, we have blocked the apartment while the owner is making some work in it.
