Localization

Paris apartment to rent situated on the street Daguerre, a very charming pedestrian street. Many shops, cafes and restaurants make this place absolutely magic. While living in this street you will have the joy of doing your shopping at the permanent open market below your Paris apartment. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe, very pleasant and absolutely Parisian. In addition, you will be two minutes walk away from the station Denfert Rochereau (access direct to both Paris airports) and from Montparnasse (5 minutes). It is a very short journey downtown by bus or metro.

Standing

Recently renovated building. The old aspect of the frontage has been left in respect of the architecture of the street. On the other hand the interior of the building is very modern with double digicode and elevator. You have the charm of old and the comfort of the renovated. The studio, on the second floor (EU way), opens on a patio which makes it particulary calm surroundings.

Layout

A large, very pleasant Paris studio. The main room has a king size bed (160*200), a table which makes it possible to dine with four people and a small office where you can settle quietly to work or surf the Web (on your laptop) with a high speed unlimitted Internet connection. The fully equipped kitchen is open on the main room. There is also a large balcony where you will be able to have your breakfast in the sun (exposure south east). The bathroom is very spacious and has a large bath-tub. A lovely Parisian apartment to rent in a modern building thats held on to its traditions.

The appartment was exactly as described by ParisAddress, and their representative was at the property to greet us as arranged. The studio flat was very clean and attractive, and its location suited our purposes very well. When we had a minor problem with the water heater during our stay, this was dealt with immediately and very proficiently. I would have no hesitation in using ParisAdress again, and recommend them to others.

At the Rue Daguerre apartment, we had a wonderful experience during a two week stay. Paris Address, as in the past, was most helpful, pleasant and responsive. We will return in the summer of '07 and look forward to the same experience!

Terrific location, very secure, clean and bright apartment. Very nice people to deal with, especially Stephanie. Comfortable bed; could use two comfortable chairs. Make sure you ask about the instructions and necessary software CD for Internet access, especially if you have little French. One big negative: no hot water for 2-1/2 days, eventually fixed. We'd stay here again, but only if assured the hot water problem has been solved.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at 19 Rue Daguerre. Stayed a week in April 07 with my spouse. It's just as other comments note: clean, bright and in a great location. We were looking for a place with an elevator (hard to find in old buildings in Paris) and some extras like internet access and a dishwasher. This building fit the bill and more. Rue Daguerre is a charming, historic shopping district, full of shops (cheese, meat, seafood, wine), cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and a lot more. Everything you'd need is somewhere on the street. Although we didn't eat there, we were amused to see that there's a McDonald's nearby, too! It was fantastic to be able to shop and prepare meals at the apartment. We only went out for breakfast once the entire week. Really enjoyed the cheese from the Frommagerie just up the street (the one with the yellow awning and cows on top). And there's a great organic wine store at the other end of the street. There are two very convenient subway stops very nearby. The No. 4 Metro stop is just at the end of the block. About a two-minute walk past there, you'll find the RER train stop (Denfert-Rochereau) which goes directly to DeGaulle airport. So getting to and from this apartment from the airport is a breeze, as well as traveling around the city. It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but the apartment sits at the back of the building overlooking a not very interesting courtyard. There's a restaurant at one end and you can hear the diners, but it wasn't overly noisy. Even though Daguerre is busting, the street noise wasn't a huge problem except on Saturday morning when a street band and later some bag pipers were entertaining shoppers. The internet connection worked fine without a disk. It's Ethernet. No wireless. A cable is provided. The TV carried a good mix of French and English-language stations (CNN, CNBC, BBC World). Other posters have mentioned problems with the hot water. We had plenty, however, it's now set a bit too high. It's scalding, so be careful to test it before you put your hand under the faucet. Two other small quibbles: The shower in the bathroom is hand-held. Don't try to operate it from the wall. It's not set up to work that way. And the lobby smelled of the garbage from the storage room in the basement most of the week. On the whole, this was a great place to stay. Yohan from Paris Address was great. Gave us a very through overview of the apartment and was very pleasant to deal with. We were a little concerned about not being in the center of Paris, but this was such a fascinating neighborhood and so easy to get to, that we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. We would definitely stay here and rent again from Paris Address. Michelle

The apartment is exactly as advertised. In addition, the location is excellent - close to Metro and market shopping in the pedestrian mall. Staff at Paris Address are extremely helpful (thanks for helping us when our luggage went missing complements of British Airways).

Apartment was as described. Very bright, clean, and renovated. Bed was extremely comfortable..almost to the point we want to buy one like it at home! Balcony windows have a great motorized blind system that shuts completely or lets some light in. Nice kitchen appliances, great cookware, dishes, and utensils. We felt the building was secure against random people walking in. There's a set of doors w/ keypad plus another set with a key before you can even get to the elevator. Yohan (parisaddress) was very thorough in explaining everything, in English for us. LAN Internet worked no problem on my newer Toshiba Windows XP laptop without any disks or installation software. As the person said in the other post, the hot water has been set way to high. It is so hot it is literally boiling as it comes out of the faucet. If you have small children I would require this fixed before entering as they could be severely hurt. Of course, this issue could have already been addressed by the time I'm typing this. Obviously there isnt any A/C, and a small tabletop fan is supplied but I cant imagine how to sleep if it got hot and humid. There is a creperie that resides in the courtyard the balcony opens out onto. They were noisy and several times drunken arguing was heard at 1:00 am...so if you need the windows open it could be an issue for you. The shower takes some time getting used to as stated in other posts, but not really all that big of a deal. Bathroom was nice and large for Paris standards. Very close to the Denefert Metro/RER station. Would stay here again if we return to Paris in the spring or fall seasons!

The apartment was great. Very clean, fully stocked (umbrellas, lots of clean towels, a washing machine, guide books in english, etc). I agree that the water temperature is set way too high (as of july 6, 2007 that is) - it can cause a 3rd degree burn within seconds. The location of the apartment was great - very convenient to the metro. If it had been hot outside it would likely have been very hot in the apartment - but the high was only 75 degrees while we were there, so we were very comfortable. The bed is very comfortable.

To visit Paris is a must. Either you dream to see Louvre, Versaile, Eiffel tower or want to test your love, or feel the way French are living, drink wine with cheese, buy French clothes or shoes - whatever, you'll find all of it and more, you'll enjoy this city, its people, its life and its everything. The key to harmony is correct location of your place of accomodation in Paris and right choice of place of accomodation - set your priorities, decide on your budget, learn the "adortisments" and choose the correct place to stay. For example if you choose to stay around Grand Opera you'll find everything Grand - Grand prices for accomodation, any food in restaurants by Grand prices, no french open food markets, no super/mini markets in walking distance around - only Grand boutiques. If you choose Gare-du-Nord district and Magenta Rue expect to live among very many blacks, in busy streets full with faked goods little stores, many little barber shops for blacks - interesting to see but once is enough if you are on a romantic vacation. Both districts are good to stay if its in your way of life. We decided on 14th Adortisment, Denfert Rochereau RER/Metro station, Daguerre rue 19. It took us about 40 minutes and 8.20 euro a person to get to Denfert Rochereau station from Charle-de-Gaule airport, straight line(B) and just one RER train(also to the same place goes Orly Bus from Orly Airport). Then 3 minutes walk to Rue Daguerre 19 where our apartment was. We were met by Fabien who was very friendly spoke English quite well, he explained us everything about apartment and all its numerous modern conveniences - washing machine, dish washer, stove, microwave, internet, TV, and .........so on, also extra towels, detergent, and ......etc. We were surprised to find all the cables needed to connect a computer to the net, also can you imagine a number of maps, guide books on Paris and France(in English), Paris Yellow Pages, some fiction books, some shopping guides and something else. Also we found a hoover, and that thing you use to hang things to dry after washing, and iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, a coffee machine and all the rest you may need - it is a fully equipped flat with some things which we even don't have at home. I should say - all those things are modern and in good order. One important thing is that windows go to sunny side and when you wake up in the morning its always sunny, and the other thing is the bed - it is really big and comfortable. All the things in this flat are new - furniture, conveniences, floor, ceiling, walls, bathroom - just all. So far we were happy with the flat and wanted to eat. Right in Daguerre rue we passed through a "street food market" with so many foods, in 15 minutes our first french food was bought, prepared in the kitchen and ready to eat. 14 adorsiment is the district where the french live, the architecture style of buildings is very pleasant, you'll find more than 5 bakeris, a real french open food market(fruits and vegetables, sea food, meat, honey, cheese, sauseges, all those raviolli - macaroni, wine etc. - just everything), 2 super/mini markets where the locals buy everything, 7 or more restaurants, one McDonalds, a metro and RER station, a number of bus stops and all that in no more than 2-3 minutes walk. Also you'll find some interesting clothes and shoe stores in neighbourhood. The french know how to make a food market sentless, rubbishless, clean even after they close - in the evening when the market is closed there are no traces(even sents) by each you can detect a market in this street. Also the french know very well how to transport people through the city. The closest metro station is in 150-250 meters and it'll take you to Cite(Notre-dam-de-Paris), to Chatelet(not far from Musee du Louvre), or to any other place quite comfortably and fast, metro is everywhere in Paris. Also the buses in neighbourhood will take you to the very center or to Eiffel tower in some 10-15 minutes. Thanks to Parisaddresses for great accomodation fulfilling all our expectations, even overfullfilling - if not this way of staying in Paris and this location I doubt we had a chance to try those unbelievable shrimps we bought in our market and cooked in our kitchen. Only one thing we want to suggest - could you change that air aromatiser in the flat for some other or try to avoid any, the air sent was uncustom for us and its change would make our stay in this apartment flawless.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was so convenient to the Metro and to the RER which provided easy access to Charles de Gaulle airport. Rue Daguerre was perfect with plenty of food stands, markets and cafes. The apartment was wonderfully kept, clean, and quiet. We were a little nervous initially, never having booked an apartment from an online service, but parisaddress was great. We would definitely use them again. Everything exceeded our expectations. Merci beaucoup!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Rue Daguerre apartment. The woman who met us at the apartment when we arrived was punctual, friendly, and informative. The apartment is well-kept, clean, and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom appliances. The street in front has many cafes, as well as cheese, chocolate, and pastry shops. A market and the subway stop are less than a block away. We would definitely stay there again!

For us, this appartment was almost perfect. After renting others, this one is really our favorite. Bright, clean, fully equiped and close to metro, RER, shops, lively street et cetera. Yes, the courtyard with the restaurant is noisy, but we have rather this, than no outside, view/windows at all. Others talked about the hot water, well the water is the only thing we didn't like. To take a shower was not easy, the shower didn't stay 'on' and it seemed like there was no pressure on the water. The bathtub was good, but with the lack of pressure it took a longgggg time to fill the bathtub. But besides the water, the appartment was very good and we are pretty sure that if we need an appart again, we will return to Rue Daguerre 19.

From start to finish, ParisAddress was cordial and professional. You can rent with confidence from this outfit. The apartment at 19, rue Daguerre was perfect for us. First, the location on a pedestrian street among many wonderful shops and cafes, with very quick access to both metro and RER, was ideal. Second, the apartment was well appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Others have expressed concern about the water from the tap being scalding hot, and while it is true, it will happen only once or twice before you will learn not to turn the faucet handle all the way to the left! The shower does lose pressure constantly, I will admit. My guess is that this occurs most when others in the building are also bathing, so you could try bathing at times other than the morning. Or, like us, you can simply adjust by taking a European shower (turning on the water only to get wet and then only to rinse) rather than an American shower (keeping the water running the whole time). As for the noise from the creperie in the courtyard, my husband and I didn't find it "noisy" at all -- it was just as soothing as waves on the beach to us. We loved falling asleep to the din below. In fact, we purposely left the windows wide open so that we could listen all night to the tinkling of the forks against plates, wine corks popping, and quiet conversations. If you prefer absolute quiet, though, all you need to do is close the windows and you will have it. And if you need absolute darkness to sleep, the automatic blinds (operated by switches on the wall) will give you a total black-out if you lower them all the way. A great apartment all around.

Hi My wife and I were in Paris, at Rue Daguerre by ParisAdress. Everything was great, we regret the city in non-tourist places, starting with the exit of the building, the pedestrian street with a bakery, pastry, wine, cheese, baguettes, seafood and more. The apartment is quiet, with all necessary parts, a good bath (just need to get some non-hot water), balcony, decent bedding, towels, everything you need. The Fabien arrived on time, showed them all (you just need to explain the question of when and where to put the garbage), very attentive, spoke English very well. He explain all in time and has been agreed that we should take the time leave, ten days later: leave the key on the table, at 4 p.m. with no problems, only we have to say goodbye to the apartment and go on foot, near the station Denfer-Rochereau, which has the RER B to Charles de Gaulle or Orly Bus to Airport Orly, this 30 minutes later. The guarantee of any problem in the apartment was with credit card, which works very well at the time of departure. Anyway, my wife and I recommend to friends and especially ParisAdress the flat in the rue Daguerre. We had good time in Paris. Thank you. Merci. I spent a wonderful week at rue Daguerre. The weather had just turned cold, and occasionally rainy, but the colorful street life below made leaving and coming home a real pleasure - and hard to resist buying the splendid food on display - meats, seafood, cheeses and fruit. Parisaddress provided excellent driver pick-up and delivery for CDG; taxis and public transport were comfortable; and the neighborhood restaurants, especially La Choppe, were quite nice. The apartment is well equipped (I would have preferred down pillows, the current ones are lumpy), but otherwise everything needed for living and working was in perfect condition (although I needed to purchase larger soap bars, shampoo etc). Highly recommended!

The apartment is very pleasant and well equipped. (The one thing missing was an ordinary oven.) The food market of Rue Daguerre just below is an added attraction. In spite of the proximity to the market, the apartment is very quiet and offers excellent privacy. The metro and RER stations at Denfert-Rochereau make it very easy to reach from all over Paris. In comparison to an hotel it offers exceptional value and comfort. I would be more than happy to come back for another week.

We stayed at 19 Daguerre for a week in June 2011. The apartment well met our expectations and the local area exceeded them! The shops and restaurants were a delight and it was extremely convenient with Metro and RER access at Denfert Rochereau. We were welcomed by Joel who was punctual and helpful. The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels etc which was great. We endorse the comments of a previous tenant who suggested a divan, and replacing the outdoor furniture on the balcony as it was broken. Advice re rubbish disposal, in the flat's folder, would be helpful too. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend 19 Daguerre to others. Sandra and David Edwards, Australia.

We stayed for 6 nights in June 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The apartment was comfortable and well appointed. Undoubtly the highlight was the location which is perfectly summarised in the description of the area. To walk out the door into a Paris 'market' was something special. We would certainly stay in the partment in the future and recommend it to friends.

Good neighborhood and nice apartment. Suggestions for making it better: 1. Stop the annoying sound of dripping water by fixing the drip in the kitchen. 2. Give instructions where to throw out the trash. 3. Explain which button to push on the telephone in order to make a call. 4. Fix the television so that it shows more channels than just CNN. 5. Have a human being (not a recording) answer the ParisAddress telephone during regular business hours.

Comfortable bed and quiet location. Two things I would suggest is to enclosed the shower/bath and update the TV. It would be nice to have more channels.

I just wanted to comment very positively on my recent stay at 19, rue Daguerre. A great location - easy to reach from CDG and, for me, close to the office in the 14th I was working at; nice street with lots of markets. The apartment was very nice - better than expected, and the welcome arrangements at the apartment were great - punctual, helpful, professional. I highly recommend your service and plan on using it again. (Also the price was very fair.) Thanks!
